General

The AGM and prize giving were a success, and the food was wonderful. Welcome to the new committee members and thanks to all the members who attended.

Bridgemate Electronic Scoring

We have a holiday bridge session with a bridgemate trial on Wednesday 13^th January 2010 about 7.20pm. Please try to get a partner and let Brian know, if you can’t please come anyway. We want everyone to have a go.

If you’re not sure what bridgemate is please read the attached info sheet Bruce prepared for the AGM.

Restricted Tournament

Our first tournament of the year will be the restricted tournament on Sunday 28^th March 2010. Cost will be $17.00 with lunch provided.

Jubilee Committee

There is now a Jubilee Committee consisting so far of Paul Hobbs, John Barry, Alix Haywood and Brian Sloan. Please approach them if you have ideas or want to help with Jubilee celebration arrangements.

Etiquette

We all have important roles to play at the bridge table (even dummy!). Please keep in mind the following duties of players:

North – incoming boards & bidding pad, empty    waste pocket at end of night.

South – outgoing boards & scoring (Please record the lead)

East – Check the scores.

Dummy – turn over bidding slip & dispose of bidding slip on second board.

Also please be conscious of Noise, especially while others are still playing and be nice to our cards, snapping damages them.

Monday Nights

We hope that we will see many new faces on Monday nights this year; please let Aroha know if you need a partner.

Reporting Results

Please inform Brian Sloan of any tournament results our members get as Brian would like to include these are part of the club reports in the courier.

Membership Drive

The Waikato/Bays Regional Committee are promoting bridge membership in February. It would be great to see new members please encourage anyone interested to play to come along, or to go to the lessons later in the year.

Committee meetings

These have been set for the 3rd Thursday of the month. Please let any committee member know of items you would like bought up at these meetings. The first meeting is 18^th Feb 2010.

Club Room Keys

The Committee are a little concerned about the number of copies of keys being made. Please be responsible with your key, and please approach a member of the committee if you or someone you know requires a key.

Clubrooms

The Clubroom Carpets have now been “Rug Doctored”, thanks to Bruce, John & Ian.

The painting has also been completed and it is a big improvement.

Parking

It came up at the AGM that some of our neighbours are unhappy about vehicles being in & in front of driveways. Im sure we all know but please don’t park in private driveways, Thanks.
