I have a suggestion. Shoot me down if you do not like it!
![]() Some people use abbreviations, others do not. They make it easier to write and communicate in some ways, but not if people reading them do not understand them! ![]() So what we have done on another forum is make a list of "normal" abbreviations, saying people are free to use them, but please avoid other ones, unless they are internationally known and understood. So is this an acceptable way to go? The list on the other forum is this: Normal abbreviations in these forums. MI: misinformation CPU: concealed partnership understanding UI: unauthorised information LA: logical alternative BIT: break in tempo AI: authorised information IB: insufficient bid CC: convention card SC: system card SEWoG: serious error, wild or gambling action OP: original poster [or original post] TD: tournament director DIC: director in charge AC: appeals committee PP: procedural penalty DP: disciplinary penalty TO: tournament organiser RA: regulating authority CoC: conditions of contest BBO: Bridge Base Online OLB: online bridge F2F: face-to-face bridge
