Some Important Points to Remember

Home Page
The index.html file is the homepage for your site and for most sites on the internet.

Internet Explorer
As stated in the first help file, if you do not have Internet Explorer 6 or later the system will not work properly. The first sign is that you cannot choose between HTML and WYSIWYG mode in File Manager. Downloading an update from Microsoft.will fix the problem.

Saving Changes
Do not forget to click the Finish button after pasting the results. To forget this has the same effect as asking it not to save the changes. By the same token if you think you have made a mess either in the results or in any other page, exit without clicking Finish. You will then be able to start again.

Backing Up
It is important to Back Up your pages to your computer. It is EXTREMELY unlikely that your server will delete anything, but let's place safe. It also means that if you accidentally delete something you do not the indignancy of having to come to us and say "Can we have our page back please?"

Experimenting
A good idea is to create for yourself a page such as test.html. In this way, without there being any links to it, you can practice what you like without anyone who does not have the password looking.

Navigation Bars
If in HTML mode, remember that the top section of text represents the code for the navigation bar. If you want to edit here do not delete any of the existing code, or the navbar will not function properly or disappear completely. ALWAYS check with the Preview button to see if the changes have worked. Another idea could be to copy the page to another name for experimenting purposes.

Marquee
When familiarising yourself with the toolbar in File Manager you will see an option called Marquee. For those who are unfamiliar with this, place your cursor in the page, click on the Marquee option and a box appears. Type a message in here and it will scroll across the page. You can choose the font type and colour from the toolbar. Remember that unless the user has the same font type as you have chosen, it may appear differently.

Photographs & Images
Be careful with the size of these. Use the JPEG or GIF options of your graphics programme to get the size of the file down to say 50K or less for a bigger Homepage image, or 25K or less for other pages. Right clicking on any image on the internet and then choosing Properties, will give you an idea of what to aim for. Your viewers do not want to spend 5 mins waiting for some massive Bitmap image to appear.
